For the first time in his thirteen year NBA career, Dallas Mavericks sixth man, Jason Terry, won’t be wearing his trademark long socks, and crooked headband when they come to town to play the Orlando Magic, because of a bet he lost to Magic starting Point Guard Jameer Nelson.

During All Star Weekend, Terry and Nelson competed with rapper Jadakiss and actor/comedian Bill Bellamy, respectively, in a Crossfit challenge.  The bet started off to where that the loser would have to wear the winner’s shoes the next time the two played each other, luckily they both wear the same size, and both have contracts with Reebok. They then decided to up the ante as they say, the bet changed to where, if Terry won, Jameer would have to wear his trademark long socks and headband, but if Nelson won, which he obviously did, that Terry would have to play without them, the next time the two teams squared off, which is happening tonight. The article is saying that Jason Terry is already looking for a loophole in the bet, as he and his Mavericks teammates are on record stating that they didn’t say how long he had to go without. Leading Terry to say the following:

I think I may get through the first quarter, but if I miss my first two shots, I’m gonna do a quick wardrobe change. If I make mt first two shots, then I’ll rock it for the rest of the night and get the win.

[UPDATE]

Terry started the game with no head band and lower socks, but would come out in the second half with a blue head band and his signature high socks.
