The Orlando Magic Select Rob Hennigan As New Team General Manager

The search is over and the Orlando Magic have announced Rob Hennigan as their new General Manager. It was announced that now former Oklahoma City Thunder Assistant GM Rob Hennigan will take over the job Otis Smith stepped down from last month.

OrlandoMagic.com is reporting, that Hennigan spent the past four years with the Thunder, two as Assistant GM and two as the director of college/international player personnel. Hennigan, who is now the youngest GM in the NBA, also spent four years with the Spurs. Seeing the track record of both fans as a Magic fan I have to be happy with this hire, and look forward to seeing what direction he takes the team! Team CEO Alex Martins had the following to say about his decision to hire Hennigan:

It is with great enthusiasm and optimism that we announce Rob Hennigan as our new General Manager,” said Martins. β€œRob is an astute strategist and evaluator of talent who comes to the Magic family from two championship-level organizations. We feel he is an outstanding fit and the right choice to lead our Basketball Operations team in achieving our championship goals.
