Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao Pass Tiger Woods As Highest Paid In Sports

Although the two refuse to fight each other boxers, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao have both passed Tiger Woods, who has topped the list every year since 2001, on the top paid athletes list. The well-rounded top 10 is comprimised by; two boxers, two golfers, two NBA players, two soccer players, a tennis player, and an NFL quarterback.

Mayweather tops Forbes list mainly due to him serving as his own promoter, which allows him to earn more money off each one of his fights, while Pac-Man made an extra $6 million through endorsements with Nike,Hewlett-Packard, Monster Energy, and Hennessy. For Woods, not winning as well as being dropped by sponsors after his infidelity issues back in 2009, check out the top 10:

  1. Floyd Mayweather ($85 million)
  2. Manny Pacquiao ($62 million)
  3. Tiger Woods ($59.4 million)
  4. Lebron James ($53 million)
  5. Roger Federer ($52.7 million)
  6. Kobe Bryant ($52.3 million)
  7. Phil Mickelson ($52.3 million)
  8. David Beckham ($47.8 million)
  9. Cristiano Ronaldo ($24.5 million)
  10. Peyton Manning($42.4 million)

A few other athletes of note: surprisingly d lineman, Haloti Ngata comes in at #12 ($37.3 million), Ndamukong Suh, is at 14, with ($36 million), both made the list mainly off their salaries as neither make much in endorsements. The highest rated woman is Maria Sharapova, 16 overall ($27.9 million) with $22 million coming from endorsements, and for our Magic fans, Dwight Howard, landed at #33, ($25.6 million).
