[REPORT] According To A Source Jameer Nelson Likely To Opt Out Of Final Year With The Magic

In the latest Orlando Magic offseason rumor mill, HoopsWorld is reporting that Jameer Nelson, who has a player option worth $8.6 million, for next season.

Jameer, who just turned 30 back in February, is said to be looking for long-term security with an extension, and also doesn’t want his expiring contract to be used as trade bait at next years trade deadline where he could wind up landing in a bad situation. It can also be a situation of “knowing where you’re not wanted,” as Dwight Howard wasn’t shy in making it known that he wanted to play with a different point guard, as he asked the team to pursue; Chauncey Billups, Deron Williams, and Steve Nash, during the season. It will be interesting to see how this plays out, even though it was said that last off season was the most important in Magic history, that was not the case as THIS will CLEARLY be the most important.  We’ll have to wait and see how this plays out. Do you think Jameer stays or goes? Hit the comments and let me know!
