Top 10 Digital Selling Artist Rihanna Takes The #1 Spot
Nielsen Soundscan, which tracks sales of music, has released a list of the Top 10 digital acts of all time, and even though she’s only been in the game since 2005 Rihanna has taken the top spot earning a pretty penny in the digital game.
The Top 10 Digital Artist of All Time:
- Rihanna (47,571,000)
- Black Eyed Peas (42,405,000)
- Eminem (42,290,000)
- Lady Gaga (42,078,000)
- Taylor Swift (41,821,000)
- Katy Perry (37,620,00)
- Lil Wayne (36,788,000)
- Beyonce (30,439,000)
- Kanye West (30,242,000)
- Britney Spears (28,665,000)
It’s interesting to see that she made the #1 spot, considering she doesn’t really sell as many albums as the other artist on the list do. So I guess her releasing six albums in seven years, as well as releasing multiple singles helped. Her latest album, Talk That Talk, which was released in November has only sold 541,000 copies. Rihanna is the definition of a single artist, great radio airplay and iTunes downloads, but her albums don’t move.
