Throwback Tuesday – Red Hot Chili Peppers “Love Rollercoaster”
The first Throwback of November goes to … Red Hot Chili Pepper’s cover of “Love Rollercoaster.” I chose this song to lead off the month because it is a great cover and it ties in the popular show on MTV, Beavis and Butthead. The Chili Peppers covered this in 1996 for the animated film Beavis and Butthead Do America. The video below features scenes from the movie mixed in with Beavis, Butthead, and the band riding a roller coaster.
Beavis and Butthead made their return back to MTV this past week with some pretty good numbers. On Thursday 3.3 million Americans tuned in to the premiere, two-thirds of the total viewers were men. The creator, Mike Judge, did a good job of incorporating the newer generation of Twilight, Jersey Shore, and 16 and Pregnant into the show to reach out to the younger audience. It’s good to see MTV bringing back such a popular show to mix in with their current lineup, which aside from Beavis and Butthead I still won’t watch. I was the happiest guy in the world when Jersey Shore had their season finale.
Here’s the MTV commercial for the return of Beavis and Butthead
- #ThrowbackTuesday: Creed – “Higher”
- #ThrowbackTuesday: Limp Bizkit – “Nookie”
- #Throwback Tuesday: 311 – “Beautiful Disaster”
